What Are Your Chances For Severe Weather Today?

Have you ever had the experience of enjoying a beautiful, clear or partly cloudy day in which you felt that the temperature was perfect, the atmosphere was just right and everything felt great outdoors? Suddenly, almost without warning, the sky turns almost black and lightning strikes abound and light up the entire landscape and then rain or first hail falls in sheets. The wind is gusting around you and the rain is actually falling sideways. You have to run for cover and the entire atmosphere is quickly turning dangerous and risky. Has this ever happened to you? It has happened to most people at one time or another. Beautiful weather can suddenly turn nasty without much warning.

This type of situation is both frustrating and frightening. Many people believe that when a day is beautiful chances are it's going to stay that way. When this happens, people often take to the outdoors and are often further away from home and shelter than they'd like to be when the weather turns against them. Can this situation be prevented?

Of course, no one can control the weather and, though weather forecasting has come a long way over the last 50 years, even the experts, with all the great weather instruments and radar, can be wrong. They are not usually extremely wrong, like they were in decades past, but inclement weather can also take the weather professionals by surprise at times.

One very interesting and fun way to learn how to predict weather is by buying a fairly inexpensive set of basic weather instruments or a digital home weather station and learning how to use them appropriately. If one uses this method, they'll find themselves the envy of those around them, such neighbors and friends, who will be calling them frequently to find out if the weather is going to change.

By simply observing their amateur weather instruments and using some common guidelines, the amateur meteorologist can learn to be very accurate in his or her forecasts and predictions. This method, of course, only pertains to their local or neighborhood weather, not forecasting on a national or global basis. Leave the big picture to the humongous, expensive weather instruments that are owned and operated by The National Weather Service or NOAA (National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration). The local weather is what most people are interested in anyway, so the local amateur weather person can be a great source of information.

It also helps to know what a region's chances are for having inclement or fair weather on a daily or weekly basis. One place to locate this type of information is Intellicast's Severe Storm Outlook. They have a web site that gives a large color coded map of the US and, the color coding provides a determination about whether the chance of severe weather is General, Slight, Moderate or High Risk. Everyone has access to this site and, if you have any question about what the chances are for inclement weather occurring in your region, you should simply go to this site and take a look at their map.

Of course, if you are an amateur weather-bug, you'll probably have a nice array of your own weather prediction instruments that will help you give a more accurate forecast as you will know what your chances are for rain or shine and you can observe your instruments and make some awesome predictions for your neighbors. A person may even make friendly wagers that, in most cases, can be easily won via the combination of some weather instruments and the Intellicast website.

If you do decide to make wagers for fun (or otherwise), you probably shouldn't share your sources such as your own instruments and the Intellicast website, otherwise, no one will bet with you because you'll have such a huge advantage.

However you use them, amateur weather instruments are both fun and educational. Start using them and then introduce your kids and their friends to them. Before long, there may be a whole neighborhood of weather forecasters around you.

If you enjoyed this information and would like more weather instruments information or weather forecasting tips, visit our website and discover the joy of using your own personal weather station.

Everglades Wildlife

When taking a break from the excitement of Florida's Parks, there is no other place to go than the Everglades. This vast swampland is home to a huge variety of native wildlife and seems like a land time forget as you skim through the waters on an airboat. The wetlands cover a massive area of 4,000km, surrounding Lake Okeechobee and the Kissimmee River, so it's no wonder that this habitat is home to so many creatures.

If you're planning a day trip out on the Everglades, then you might want to keep your eyes peeled for these unique creatures, only seen in the swamps of Florida.

American Alligator

One of the main reasons to experience the Everglades is to see the American Alligator, the most iconic animal of this area. However, they can be quite difficult to spot as they often keep their whole bodies under water, leaving only their snouts and eyes above the surface. The common Alligators in the Everglades a noticeable by their Olive/Brown scales and round bodies that can reach up to 14ft for adults. Being the top of the food chain, Alligators usually eat anything they can get their teeth around.

It's easier to find Alligators at night as they are nocturnal hunters and sun bathe during the day to keep their body temperatures up as they are cold blooded. When you're on the lookout for Alligators at night, keep watch for the reflection of light off their eyes.

Great Blue Heron

The Great Blue Heron is a large wading bird reaching a height of around 140cm. You should be able to easily spot this bird in the day time due to its distinctive colours which stand out against the green backdrop of the swamps. Their plumage is a mixture of white and grey feathers and a bluish stripe across the top of their head. They can nest high up in trees, so if you look up, you may see one.

You can even keep an ear out for Great Blue Herons during their mating season when they are more vocal. Keep an ear out for a harsh croak.

Florida Panther

If you see one of these during your trip, count yourself very lucky as they are an endangered, shy species. They appear to have a tanned fur with black tips on their ears and tail.

As cubs, they look very different however. Florida Panther cubs have distinctly blue eyes and black stripes in their coat which they lose later on in adulthood.

Florida Panthers cannot roar and usually communicate through chirps, growls, hisses and purrs.

Osprey

This bird of prey is not necessarily native to Florida's Everglades, but can be observed as one of its inhabitants, usually migrating at certain times of the year. Reaching 60cm in height with a 2 metre wing span, you can usually see the Osprey circling high above deep waters in search of its next meal. Their diet relies on fish for the most part and the Osprey is a very efficient hunter grasping its prey and pulling it out of the water. However, the Osprey would become cumbersome carrying a huge fish in mid-flight, so with one talon it grabs the fish's head and in the other, the tail. This puts the fish in a headlong streamlined position, making it easier for flight.

So when taking a break from Orlando attractions for a visit to nature make sure to keep your eye out for these amazing creatures to see a part of the real Florida.

Close Encounters of the Grizzly Kind

We had taken our horses and climbed the backside of "Mount Pioneer" our designation of our favorite mountain in the Wilmore Wilderness Park in Alberta, Canada. It was rough going as no one had used the trail in 5 years, so we spent a lot of time cutting deadfall and opening the trail again. I had created the trail some 10 years previously, as it was a great short cut to my absolute favorite place. As we broke through the timber into the alpine the campers gasped with awe and wonder at the sight of Mount Cote' and Pioneer Lake nestled in its valley. We paused for photographs and then headed to the lake for lunch. I took my camera and headed a quarter mile up the mountain where I planned to get a few good shots of Casket and Intersection mountains. As I stepped up on the final rock to view the valley below, my hair just stood on end! There 20 paces away stood a grizzly! I knew I should disappear but I also wanted a photograph. As I started clicking he stood up on his hind legs sniffing the air. It was immediately obvious that his focus was not me but the campers and horses down below. He sniffed the air and listened acutely, hardly noticing me even though I was in full view. Obviously he had the same problem my wife tells me I have; that I only focus on one thing at a time! So as he checked the air and squinted down the hill I clicked my last picture and stealthily retreated off the rock and out of his view. When I got back and showed everyone my pictures,( isn't digital great!) They immediately wanted to see it. We cautiously returned and spotted my bear ambling off into the bushes away from all the noise and action. It was a heart stopping moment for me and one I will always remember.

But the question I ask here is what can we learn about a grizzly's habits and actions? We are sometimes told that the grizzly, king of the wilderness, has no fear and will attack without provocation. Whereas this may sometimes be true we noticed that this bear took the time to check out his situation and decided to retreat rather than challenge us (at least this time!) He definitely was relying on his sense of smell and sound and his eyesight was not his strong suit. His standing on his hind legs was a definite attempt to see what he had already smelled and heard. I am also forever grateful that my "bear of not too much brain" was suitably occupied before he saw me. I would not have wanted to be his point of focus!! We also note that if the grizzly is not surprised into action, he does feel threatened and chooses to leave rather than challenge a large group.

When I travel in the wilderness I have a great respect for the wildlife that lives there. It is an amazing experience to be able to observe all animals and to share their home for a few short days. I want to be cautious but I also know that God's wilderness is not guaranteed to be safe. So as I travel I take precautions where I can but I joyfully take the risks that are inherent and I cannot change. We cannot make a wild grizzly safe and huge respect must be given to him. What he does not do today he may do tomorrow. But there is a great thrill in being able to see one close up and living to tell the story!

Free Places Around Austria and Germany to Stay in a Caravan or Motorhome

The attraction in Austria to us was undoubtedly the Salzgammergut area. We had friends who lived in Bad Ischl and hence we toured around the area. Bad Ischl was a cute town and had a lovely royal living quarters which had Baths that were well populated for summer. The river was not far off and the streets were cobbled with a lovely walk with many cafes along the riverside.

The Salzgammergut area is a beautiful area and known for the special salts in the water baths. So much so that Prince Ludwig and Queen had been successful in conceiving whilst on holidays there. This area like most of Europe has beautiful churches gold lined statues and their cemeteries are also cute with each tombstone having their own garden lined with colourful flowers. There was a small concentration camp nearby which we didn't get time to visit however if like Dasch not far from Munich would probably well worth a see in Edensee.

Halstatt is an Austrian town situated on a beautiful beautiful lake. The area has also the oldest salt mine in the world with a steep train trip that my kids 7 and 6 years old truly enjoyed. It was only yesterday that tehy mentioned the grteat slides in this salt mine. A momento is a sample of the salt in a small plastic container. The kids loved the mummy of a man fossilised in salt. Nearby were lovely shops which sold,Woodcarving gifts very different from the ones in Oberammergau.

The lakes heading to Salzburg from Austria were lined with many motorhomes and caravans. We eagerly toured towards Salzburg and saw many German caravanners and motorhomers come over for the scorching summer weekend.

Something one should sample foodwise for lunch or a small snack is an Austrian dish called a Schwarzamarrin which is like little scones with cream and much strawberry jam around it eaten with skewers.

In Germany, the must do places we would recommend Oberammergau, Unterammergau and in an around Castle Neuchanstein. In Oberammergau there is a Christian play which is only acted out every 10 years due to a plague which almost killed the town. The price of the play includes a tour of the museum, churches, original church ground where the play started and open theatre is worth a visit. Oberammergau is also known for its woodcarving. One will be mesmerized at the nativity scenes, clocks and other trickets that are displayed by the many woodcarving shops there.

Eclipse Caravans is a specialised supplier of caravan accessories.

Our online shop benefits caravan and motorhome owners. We specialise in importing many products however we also freely share our experiences with the world of our trip and where to go.

Rail To Trail Bikeways Skirt Woods And Water

Minnesota has more paved rail-to-trail bikeways than any other state. The Paul Bunyan Trail is the longest paved trail.

The trail begins in the Brainerd/Baxter area and connects to The Heartland Trail, Blue Ox Trail and the Cuyuna State Trail, totaling 110 miles from Brainerd to Bemidji State Park. It was recently named a member of the Rails-To-Trails Hall of Fame.

Bikers, hikers and inline skaters marvel at the scenery as the trail threads through forest, wetlands and lake after lake. Time is on users side on this trail, a seemingly slow motion jaunt with never-ending tranquility.

Throughout the journey there are welcoming campgrounds and 15 towns that seem like pearls on a fine bracelet. Towns along the Paul Bunyan Trail include Brainerd, Baxter, Nisswa, Pequot Lakes, Jenkins, Pine River, Backus, Hackensack, Walker and Bemidji Minnesota. Each stop has food and supplies for tired, hungry bicyclists. Most towns have cozy hotels with gas fireplaces, jacuzzi tubs and are known for their comfortable beds.

One idea for planning your Paul Bunyan Trail bike tour is to schedule it around one of the neat community events held each season in one of the towns on the trail. And while you're at it, livery service (and bike rentals) is provided by Trailblazer Bikes, Nisswa and Baxter, and your first night lodging choices can be found at our Brainerd Lodging association.

Hike the Best: The Inca Trail

The Inca Trail is one of the most famous treks in the world. Created by the Incas during the peak of their empire, the maze of trails ran all the way from Ecuador down to Santiago Chile. It consists of nearly 24,900 miles of trails, so there are really many "Inca Trail treks." However, what most people think of when they think of the Inca Trail is the four day span that starts in the Sacred Valley and ends at Machu Picchu.

The portion of the Inca Trail that leads to Machu Picchu was part of the trail reserved only for spiritual leaders and Inca elite. They were the only ones allowed to walk on it, and only did so during spiritual journeys and pilgrimages. This four day adventure is the highlight of many people's trips to Peru. There is also a two day option that follows the same path, but requires less time and effort.

Only people with official guides are allowed to hike the Inca Trail. It starts in the Sacred Valley town of Ollantaytambo and winds through valleys and past scenic farmland before heading uphill to a peak at 4,200 feet above sea level, called Dead Woman's Pass.

Preparing ahead of time for the Inca Trail is very important. The trail often sells out months in advance and visitors need to be aware of seasonal differences between the dry and the rainy season. The dry season lasts June to August and is the coldest and driest time of year. This is the peak season usually because it corresponds with summer holidays in the northern hemisphere. The wet season goes from November to March. You can expect the path to be muddy and for it to be raining during these months. The trail is actually closed in February. Perhaps the best time to visit is in the seasons between these two extremes, such as during October or May.

When you hike the Inca Trail, you'll be anticipating the finale at Machu Picchu, but you will also see many Inca ruins along the way. Patallacta is a complex hikers see on their first day. Runkurakay is a circular complex seen on the third day of the standard trek and is special because circular designs were not common in Inca architecture. Sayacmarca is a very impressive site and is also called the Inaccessible Town because it is surrounded by steep drop offs.

This article about the Inca Trail was written by a Peru travel expert at Peru For Less, specializing in Machu Picchu tours.

Scuba Diving trips from Orlando, Florida. One of the most extreme sports to be done in numbers these days is in fact Scuba. It is a sport that has become so popular since the likes of P.A.D.I started to offer the chance for the average person to go and explore the secrets of the depths. In Orlando you are situated within a couple of hours from some of the greatest Dive experiences you are ever likely to encounter, the variety of the Dives available to the Florida holiday maker are vast and offer fantastic wildlife experiences and challenging Dives.

Diving with Manatees in Crystal River

If you want an unforgettable experience, take the opportunity that many tour companies offer to swim and interact with the Manatees in the Crystal River where they are present all year round! For diving enthusiasts this is a dive like no other you will have encountered. Most tour companies offer a full day or two day tour and give you the chance to snorkel and dive with the wildly popular animals in small groups. To help protect the animals you should not feed or touch them, these beloved creatures are very curious and will often approach you so you can have a once in a life time up-close experience with these friendly giants when you are lucky enough to go swimming with Manatees.

Most tour operators don't charge extra fees for Snorkel or Diving equipment as they include this within the price. The majority of tour operators also include lunch and with many you can be picked up and dropped off at your hotel so be sure to check the details. Most operators will not allow children under the age of 3 to go swimming with the magnificent Manatees in Florida.

The Manatee (Trichechus manatus) are the State Marine Mammal of Florida and anyone who has dived in the presence of this endangered species will know how beautiful and intelligent they are.

Challenging Dives

For a more challenging Scuba Diving experience visitors to Orlando, Florida can head over to the famous Blue Grotto, being a cavern dive all participants should be at least qualified to Openwater Level One.

When you first enter the Blue Grotto, it appears as though it is only a small pond. In fact depths can reach up to 100ft, there is, however a fresh air bell at 30 ft which will enable you to take off your mask and breath fresh air. As you continue to submerge, you are automatically transported into the 'grand ballroom'.

Devil's Den is a pre-historic cavern carved by Florida's underwater aquifer millions of years ago. Even before entering the water at this site, the views are simply awesome. Upon entering the site stairs have been carved out in nature's very own style, the Limestone stairs lead down about 60 feet.

The cavern has fantastic visibility of up to 100 feet underwater and the giant boulders and tiny swim throughs are decorated with Fossils embedded into the Limestone.

Discover Sport Fishing in Costa Rica

One of the most beautiful nature destinations in the world, Costa Rica and its wonderful beaches, whether on the Pacific or Caribbean side, is filled with amazing spots. This natural heaven is full of opportunities for sports activities, including hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, and much more.

One of the most uncommon, yet thrilling sport available in the country, is sport fishing. It is often said that there are more fish in the sea in Costa Rica, that there are hooks to catch them. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, where you'll find yourself alone face to the sea and its inhabitants.

Costa Rica holds the most world records in the history of international sport fishing competitions, with each year a new astonishing number of catches, particularly of swordfish and spearfish. Seasoned fishermen can go on fishing expeditions with one of the several professional active fishing companies offering this type of tours. All tours are organized with first quality equipment and boats, as well as highly qualified guides. If you are not a professional but just an amateur, armadas of smaller privately-owned boats also offer half-day or full-day fishing excursions. The rule is that every catch is released afterward to protect the fish population.

Whether you choose to try your hand at sport fishing in the Pacific or Caribbean, you'll have a very different experience. In the Pacific, fishing season is year-round and it is relatively easy to catch big fish. The blue marlin particularly abounds here, as well as tuna and sea breams. The main spots for this activity on the Pacific side are Playa Flamingo, Playa Tamarindo, Quepos, and Golfito.

High water fishing in the Caribbean is more limited, but equally thrilling. The two major centers for sport fishing are Tortuguero and Barra del Colorado. Several nautical clubs are settled here and offer a variety of expeditions, from three to seven days. You can also organize your trip from specialized residential boats in the area. Here you can catch marlin, sails, dorado, wahoo, tuna, roosterfish, tarpon and snook year round.

Fly fishing is another sought after activity in the country, which can be done in fresh-river waters, and is just as exciting as deep sea sport fishing.

In the 2005 edition of the International Game Fish Association's (IGFA) world records, Costa Rica is a definitely ahead of any other fishing destination, with 22 all-tackle records, 18 fly-fishing records and 77 line-class records. This amounted to 177 world records, the highest number for the country itself.

This guide to sport fishing in Costa Rica was written by a Costa Rica travel expert at Costa Rica For Less, specialist in customized Costa Rica trips.

Kayak In A Tropical And Spectacular setting - Everglades Kayaking

If you're heading to Florida and enjoy kayaking, make sure to find the Ten thousand Islands on the southwestern tip of the state. Here you will enjoy the many wonders of the Everglades This tropical location is one of the greatest US destinations for paddling! Located near the southwestern tip of the state one can enjoy a wide variety of local and exotic animals such as Alligators and tropical birds. This area also holds many rare tropical trees not found anywhere else in the US like Rainbow Eucalyptus and Plumeria. After a little sight seeing its time to get out for some exciting everglades kayaking.

Don't expect to go to this area and find thousands of islands awaiting your enjoyment. There are hundreds of them, but not thousands. Most of these are not suitable for camping or hanging out. Yet, there are some great islands with beach shorelines, such as Tiger Key. So even though the name suggest thousands of islands, there are really only a few hundred or so, most being unusable.

If you don't have good navigational skills, make sure to bring someone along who does. Within this mangrove wilderness lies a web of bays, creeks, and channels in which it is all too easy to lose your way. Get a waterproof NOAA marine chart before leaving out on this Everglades kayaking trip. Don't consider carrying anything other than a waterproof chart. Of course, you will want a compass to make sure you can get back on the right path if something happens. Plus, I would highly recommend taking a (waterproof) GPS receiver. Naturally, you should know how to use all these navigational tools.

Chokoloskee Island is a great place to go for a day or weekend if you enjoy fishing, relaxing and everglades kayaking. When you want to enjoy some relaxation time on the island you can kick back and sink your pole into the water to catch a wide variety of fish. The island is big on relaxation and fishing, since they are blessed with redfish, tarpon, sea trout, snook, and many other types of fish. There are many paddling trails in the area and you can head out for multiple day trips by kayak and canoe.

This is not Disneyland. This is true wilderness and there are precautions that a kayaker needs to be aware of. The powerful sub-tropical sun can cause severe sunburn. Be sure to take sunscreen and have protective clothing (hat, long pants, and long-sleeved shirt) available when you need it. Since all the water in the area is saltwater, all you will have access to is what you bring with you. Everyone coming on your trip will need to bring a gallon of water per day spent in the area. Make sure to bring at least a gallon of water per person for every day that you plan on spending in this area of the Everglades. All the water in the area is saltwater, so even the raccoons are dying of thirst! They will chew holes through your bottles to get to the freshwater, so make sure to protect them at all times.

Sand flies and mosquitoes also inhabit this area, after all, this is the Everglades. You will need mosquito netting that also blocks out sand flies and of course enough insect repellent to keep your entire group comfortable. We visited the area in late may and, surprisingly, encountered very little in the way of mosquitoes.

As you probably know, canoeing and kayaking can be challenging and physically exerting at times. The Ten Thousands Islands is an exciting place to visit if you have those navigational skills and come prepared for the physical exertion of Everglades kayaking. The Ten Thousand Islands await you. Bon voyage!

Create a tropical oasis at home, Plumeria plants will add a tropical feel to your surroundings. Be sure to learn more about these wonderful plants at PlumeriaTreasure.com. Want to go on a tropical vacation to Hawaii. Find some all inclusive hawaii vacations or best places to visit in Hawaii here.

What To Look For When Buying A Harley Davidson

Imagine a long stretch of open road winding through the landscape; empty and inviting. Now imagine yourself flying down it at 60, 80 miles an hour whizzing past the scene - and the only thing between you and the road is a Harley roaring with pure unstoppable power. If you dream about the open road or having your own Wild Hog adventure, owning a Harley could be for you.

For first time Harley owners, most experts recommend buying a used Harley as new motorcycles tend to depreciate very quickly - and you're likely to have a few tip-overs that could significantly damage the value of your motorbike. Here are some other ideas: Start small - you don't have to completely sacrifice on power, but if it's your first Harley, it's best to start small. Most experts will recommend beginner riders stick with bikes under 600 cc as it takes experience to learn how to handle a more powerful machine. Find a frame that fits - make sure the physical size of your bike fits the frame of your body. Since many motorbike models come in a range of engine types, your best bet is to find a comfortable frame and chassis and then fit it out the engine you want.

Do your research and know the market - unlike cars, motorbike deals are a bit harder to come by, especially if you're after a particular make and model. Online clubs and communities are helpful resources and can answer a lot of questions about making a smart purchasing decision. Buy smart - when buying a used Harley, you'll want to get a motorcycle history check so you know that you're getting what you pay for. Also ensure that the motorcycle doesn't carry any outstanding debt - you don't want a finance company taking away your dream machine.

Dont just buy the first Harley that you like while evaluating Harley Davidson motorcycles for sale. Think of why you are buying a motorbike and evaluate your options. A Harley is a classy piece of machinery. The number of make and model options available in the market are testimonial to the fact that different people look for different features in their motorbikes and therefore there are no set rules for evaluating motorbikes for sale that will fit all. And this is indeed true because the factors that you need to consider while looking at Harleys for sale are based on the main objective of your purchase.

The reason why you are evaluating Harley Davidson bikes for sale is the primary factor that governs all other factors that you will consider. Therefore, it is essential that you are aware of why you really want to buy a motorbike in the first place. Once you have thought of that you can then start to look at the various options of make and models available in the market and shortlist the ones that seem to fit your requirement. This is not something that needs large levels of expertise. If you are looking at riding in the city, you will obviously need to evaluate Harleys that have better manoeuvrability. Those of you who want to go on a long dirt road trip should evaluate options that are made specifically for the purpose. The one thing that you should keep in mind is your budget. Harleys for sale can be priced extremely high depending their age and the power and design elements. In fact, it is recommended that if you are relatively new at looking for Harley Davidson bike, you should opt for used motorbikes for sale to start with. Once you get the hang of the bike, you could start exploring your passion for Harleys further.

Once you've bought that first bike - you'll be ready to hit the road! Riding on your own can be a very enjoyable experience - but if you're looking to ride in a group there are many motorbike clubs and communities that welcome newbie riders. Enjoy yourself!

Coleman 6-person Instant Tent Review

The Coleman 6-person Instant Tent is designed for utmost convenience, allowing it to be setup or taken down in less than one minute. Here are some of the tents most notable features listed.

Features of the Coleman 6-Person Instant Tent

- Innovatively designed allowing it to be setup or put down in less than one minute
- Accommodates up to six people
- WeatherTec System uses interworking features to keep the bad weather at bay
- Large 10x9 foot footprint provides plenty of floor space
- 1 year limited manufacturer's warranty

Spacious and Roomy

The Coleman 6-Person Instant Tent can sleep up to six people making it an ideal family tent. The generous footprint of 10x9 foot gives you ample floor space to sleep.

A great feature of this tent is the ability to set it up in less than one minute. This is ideal when you're out in bad weather and want to set up camp quickly. Setting up the tent is very simple. You just need to unfold it, and then extend the legs then it's ready for use.

Build Quality

As you'd expect from a Coleman tent the build quality is impressive. The materials are made of heavy-duty fabric and the poles which construct the frame are made of steel. The height of the tent is 6 feet giving you plenty of headroom inside even if you're tall.

WeatherTec System

Exclusively from Coleman is their WeatherTec system consisting of a range of interworking features which keep the inside of the tent dry at all times. Leak-free seams cover the doors and windows thereby preventing water leaking in. The coated polyester fabric provide adequate protection in the even in extreme weather.

The tent holds up well in wet weather and doesn't leak, but it does sometimes produce condensation on the inside. This doesn't produce much water though, so using a towel should be enough to soak up the droplets.

There is plenty of ventilation so it feels airy and comfortable in hot summers. Both sides of the tent have a large sized window and there is also a big window at the back. There are also two roof vents to provide even further ventilation.

Final Thoughts

I would like to have seen a rain fly included as the water isn't stopped from getting inside the tent if you open the windows after it has been raining. The tent interior is spacious and comfortable for 3-4 people, but if you have 6 people you won't be able to fit your camping gear inside also, so I would recommend an 8-person tent in these circumstances.

Overall, the Coleman 6-Person Instant Tent is smartly designed tent which has excellent quality materials that are well stitched. The instant set up allowing you to setup the tent within one minute is very appealing for those who want a high-level of convenience.

beginners guide for Orchid Care

Where to begin is the key question asked by new orchid enthusiasts. This beginners guide will attempt to solve this dilemma. It is important you feel comfortable about growing orchids after reading this brief article.
Three of the most popular beginners orchids are: PHALAENOPSIS, CYMBIDIUMS, and ODONTOGLOSSUMS.
PHALAENOPSIS
These plants have a small area of growth.
PHALAENOPSIS are ideal houseplants for warm rooms.
These orchid plants have long-lasting flowers in a wide range of colors and patterns. PHALAENOPSIS orchids are characterized by large, rounded flowers giving it its common name, "Moth Orchids".
Blooming season takes place year round. The plant will reflower from the same stem several times.
PHALAENOPSIS CARE
Moth Orchids or Phalaenopsis are very popular as houseplants. They make excellent indoor plants because they can tolerate the drier heat of central heating as well as being close to perpetually flowering.
They do not have bulbs like other orchids but instead grow with fleshy leaves. New leaves form from the central crown. They also produce a lot of aerial roots that come over the side of the pot as well as into the bark compost.
RE-FLOWERING:
Phalaenopsis will bloom for several months at a time if kept in a warm room with moderate light.
Water the plant sparingly from the top, letting the pot drain well. This may be done every one or two weeks depending on how warm the room is and whether the plant is growing or not. Take care not to overwater and avoid water collecting in the centre.
Check on the roots through a clear pot.
The plant will continue to make new buds from the end of the stem with the flowers gradually opening in succession, providing an impressive show. Along the length of the main stem there are many eyes or nodes. Before all the flowers have died and the sap is still rising, cut the stem right off above the highest node. If it is not cut until the flowers have dropped, then the stem may start to die back.
The node will then soon start to produce a side branch with more flower buds. When these have all flowered, repeat by cutting above the next node down the main stem and so on. When the base of the stem is reached or it fails to re-bloom, cut it off at the base. Occasionally a new plant may grow from the stem, allow the new plant to grow to a strong size with a few leaves and roots, and then gently remove and pot it up in fine bark.
TEMPERATURE: Moth Orchids thrive in the warmth of most modern homes, keep a minimum temperature on winter nights of 65 degrees F, with a daytime maximum of 85 degrees F.
LIGHT: Keep the plants shaded, direct summer sun can scorch the leaves. Give your orchids as much light as possible during the dark winter months.
WATERING: Keep the free-draining bark compost moist year round. When watering the plant, remove it from any cover pot or saucer, pour water through the pot and then let it drain before placing it back in a decorative planter. Never let the pot stand in water. Allow the compost to dry out slightly and the pot to become lighter before watering again. Avoid water collecting in the crown of the plant as this can cause the plant to rot. Add a little orchid fertilizer to the water once every 2 or 3 waterings, (approximately every 10-14 days) year round.
CYMBIDIUM
These orchids are ideal for a cool light location.
Place them outdoors in a shaded spot for the summer, and remember to keep them well watered.
Cymbidiums flower every winter and spring for 6 to 8 weeks, with tall sprays of blooms in a wide range of colors. Cymbidium orchids are well known for use as corsage orchids.
These orchid plants can grow large in time.
CYMBIDIUM CARE
The Cymbidium orchids are very popular, their showy flowers lasting many weeks. They are best grown in a cool location and placed out of doors in the summer. They are mostly winter and spring flowers although there are summer and autumn varieties. Standard varieties grow into large plants with huge flowers and bulbs. Miniature or compact types will remain manageable. A cymbidium should be re-potted in the spring after flowering when it has outgrown its pot, about every two or three years.
RE-FLOWERING: Keep these orchids cool and light in winter and outdoors in summer to help them re-flower. Keeping them too warm can prevent blooming. When the blooms have dies, trim the stem off right down to the base. The next set of flowers will be produced from the next pseudobulb the plant creates.
TEMPERATURE: Cymbidiums need a minimum temperature of 45 degrees F in winter. You will need to give them a sufficient change in climate from the warmer summer, which should not exceed a maximum of 85 degrees F. Keeping your cymbidiums in shade will satisfy this condition.
LIGHT: Keep your plants shaded from bright, direct summer sun as this will scorch the leaves. Give your plant as much light as possible during the cold winter months.
WATERING: Keep the free-draining bark compost moist with frequent watering in the spring and summer, which is the main growing season. When watering the plant, remove it from covered pots or saucers, pour water through the pot and then let it drain before placing it back in a decorative planter. Never let the pot stand in water. Allow the compost to dry out slightly and the pot to become lighter before watering again. Add a small amount of orchid fertilizer to the water once every two or three waterings, approximately every 10-14 days from March through September.
ODONTOGLOSSUM
ODONTOGLOSSUM orchids are good compact houseplants when kept in a cool area.
Shade them from summer sun, keep ODONTOGLOSSUM plants indoors year round.
They bloom every 9 or 10 months for four to six weeks.
They have a wide range of colors and patterns from sprays of numerous tiny flowers up to several large, showy blooms on a single stem depending on the variety.
ODONTOGLOSSUM orchids are very popular as they have a wide variety of colors, shapes, and patterns. Ranging from large showy flowers on compact stems to tall branching spikes of many tiny bright blooms. The plants are compact, which makes them easy to cope with in your home as windowsill orchids. Often the plants will flower twice a year or more as they increase in size and have growths at different stages around the plant. They should be repotted when your ODONTOGLOSSUM has outgrown its pot, about every two or three years. Follow the Cymbidium repotting instructions above for Odontoglossums.

RE-FLOWERING: Keep your ODONTOGLOSSUM orchids cool and in moderate light year round, they should reflower easily on the season's completed bulb. Keeping them too warm can prevent blooming. When the blooms have dies, trim the stem off right down to the base. The next set of flowers will be produced from the next pseudobulb the plant creates.
TEMPERATURE: Odontoglossum hybrids need a minimum of 50 degrees F in winter to give them a sufficient change in conditions from the warmer summer. Remember a maximum of 85 degrees F is near the highest temperature this plant will withstand.

LIGHT: Keep them shaded from bright, direct summer sun this will scorch the leaves. Give your ODONTOGLOSSUM as much light as possible during the cold winter months.

WATERING: Keep the free-draining bark compost moist with frequent watering in the spring and summer, which is the main growing season. When watering the plant, remove it from all covered pots or saucers, pour water through the pot and then let it drain before placing it back in a decorative planter. Never let the pot stand in water. Allow the compost to dry out slightly and the pot to become lighter before watering again. Add a bit of orchid fertilizer to the water once every two or three waterings, approximately every ten to 14 days from March through September.

Gallup & Stribling This article is a guide for orchid beginners who want to care for orchid plants. This guide contains tips on watering, temperature, lighting, and plant food.

So why Go for Natural Pesticides?

Organic gardening is really a movement which has found its way back to the modern world. Age-old cultures used to exercise organic gardening, however the creation of chemical fertilizers and pesticides radically altered everything. Recently however, organic gardening happens to be greatly accepted once more as an agricultural practice. This is because of the developing health and environmental concerns everywhere in the world. Chemical fertilizers and pesticides contain a lot of poisonous components that pose quite a few health hazards for people. Consuming fresh vegetables that have gone through chemical treatments may contribute to poisoning and other serious medical conditions. In addition, chemicals harm the earth by draining it of the nutrients crops require to be able to grwo well. Organic gardening uses all-natural fertilizers and pest control practices as opposed to these types of synthetic methods. This way, the world not just gets to eat fruits and vegetables that are totally free of harmful substances, but the earth is preserved for much better plant farming to boot.

Pesticides happen to be just about the most significant things I have to keep the crops on my farm growing healthy. Devoid of pesticides, my crops will instantly become devoured by bugs and red wigglers. In the event that that takes place, I lose my income and all of my hard work becomes naught. Yet I take advantage of organic pesticides rather than synthetic types. The key reason why? This is because I read somewhere that synthetic pesticides consist of damaging chemical substances that may cause health problems in people who consume my fruits and veggies. I discovered that natural and organic pesticides are significantly better, because they're made of all-natural ingredients that will not cause harm to the vegetation or the potting soil. I use a garlic product on my personal crops, which is made up of garlic cloves boiled through the night. I apply this onto my plants twice a week to reduce aphids. We've learned that organic pesticides get the job done exceptionally well. Additionally, they're affordable, therefore i have more profit margins in my fruit-and-vegetable company.

Unwanted pests are a farmer's bane, particularly when they come in the proximity of picking time. Unwanted pests are generally destructive; they will actually eat their way through small bean stalks or peck apart at ripe corn. This can be a calamity for a farmer, as pests destroy their means of income. This is the reason pesticides were invented. However, the chemical pesticides being utilized today comprise dangerous components which damage the environment along with affect folks' health and wellbeing. This is exactly why natural pesticides tend to be the suggested replacement. Natural pesticides are insect control sprays and fluids made from organic resources. These herbal pesticides successfully eliminate all manners of unwanted pests without the need of compromising the health and safety of anyone. Ingredients utilized in all-natural pesticides include things like orange peel, whole milk, water, nutrient or organic oil, tomato stems and leaves, kerosene, soap, garlic cloves, and so a lot more. Crops reap the benefits of these kind of organic pesticides and grow to maturation, creating excellent crops that men and women can consume with out fear of getting sick, or worse.

The Auto Deer Feeder

The auto deer feeder takes the regular deer feeding kits and makes them even more convenient. It is designed with the hunter in mind, and can provide regularly timed feeding distributions, making the deer more likely to be at a feeder at a certain time. This not only saves you the time and effort, it also encourages the deer to eat on a pattern. Once you recognize that pattern, as a hunter, you are able to track the deer that much more successfully, according to your set feeding schedule. This auto deer feeder can also make the typical back door deer feeding kit that much more efficient and accessible.
As of today, there are two kinds of automatic deer feeders on the market. One is an analog panel that has a switch to release the food. It runs on a timer that you can set and feeds the deer according to that schedule. The other kind is a digital, programmable one that allows you to set various times for feeding.
Both of these auto feeders are easy to set up. First you have to find a location that gets a good amount of deer traffic. Then you attach the motor on the feeder to the batter and insert the batter into the casing for it underneath the motor. Once you have this powered up you fill the small drum on the automatic deer feeder with whatever feed is recommended by the manufacturers. It's best to use what is suggested by the manufacturer as some of the bulkier mixtures of deer feed won't be able to be released properly by the feeder. Make sure to secure the lid onto the drum tightly after you fill it. Since the feeder will stand dormant for so long, it's important that no moisture gets inside and spoils the deer feed.
After this, you are ready to program the auto feeder. If you have an analog design automatic deer feeder it's as simple as entering the right code for whatever time you desire. Usually these codes will be made clear in the manual that came with your feeder, and you hit the suggested switches to set your timer. There are normally times suggested, but it's really up to you as the user to decide what you should set your timer for. The digital auto feeder is even easier to set, as it works much like an alarm clock. You have arrow keys to move the display up and down to select the time of day, and then you simply click to set the timer. You repeat this process to set as many feeding times as you want. Often these feeders have a few parameters you are able to set like this, customizing your feeding time even further.
With the convenience that comes from owning an auto deer feeder, it's no wonder they have become so popular amongst hunters. Both models are easy to install and set up while also making your hunting experience that much more convenient. For a hunter, there really is no reason not to own an automatic deer feeder.

Top Jacket Buying Tips For UK Summers

Looks like rain…

The UK and especially Scotland is very well known for its changeable weather. You can be a few steps out of the door on a sunny day with not a cloud in the sky when practically out of nowhere you feel rain drops on your skin and within a few minutes more you are amidst a thunderous downpour. Alternatively you might be setting out to work on a frosty morning with double thick tights and a hat. Only by lunch time you are sweating like mad as the frost has disappeared and the sun is raging down and most people are now thinking about getting the sun cream on. It really does happen.

This situation makes jacket choice crucial, especially in the summer as it can be a pain and a lifesaver on the same day as the weather changes by the hour. So what should you look for when buying a jacket for a Scottish summer?

Waterproof

The most important aspect of your jacket should be that it is seriously waterproof. This is because, as mentioned above, it can start raining practically at any second of any day no matter what time of year it is, how blue the skies are and how many days uninterrupted sun you have had up until now. You can choose a synthetic waterproof or a natural leather or waxed waterproof depending on what you like.

Lightweight

If you are out and about in the rain and you blink and it is suddenly basking sunshine you are going to want to take your jacket off. Ideally you could teleport it home to a hook on the back of your door, but until they invent working jacket teleporters you just need to make sure that when you look for a jacket, you go for one that is lightweight and easy to fold up out of the way.

Stylish

While there are plenty of jackets that are lightweight and waterproof, you don't want to be stuck wearing a cagoule on a night out because you will look like a bit of a train spotter. There are many jackets like a Barbour quilted jacket or Lyle and Scott jackets which tread the line between style and functionality nicely.

Pockets

One thing never to be without is a good selection of pockets. If you are going to have a jacket with you most of the time you are going to want to have pockets in it so you have somewhere for all your sun block, hot water bottles, sunglasses, scarves etc. etc…

Sam Qam has a Sessun UK jacket. He is never without his favourite jacket or one of his many Penfield Clothing UK jackets when he goes out in any weather.

How to pick a Backpacking Tent

Do you know the best backpacking tent to buy is a common question I get and so I wanted to compose this article to clarify the answer. There are a few facts to consider when looking for a new tent: measurements, kilos, attributes.

Prior to we investigate further why don't we clear up the very first thing. Whenever we think about backpacking tents most of us almost exclusively think of backpackers as well as rugged outdoor hikers, but that is simply not the case. Long-distance runners, cyclists - both motorcycles and pedal bikers - use them, as well as backpackers and equestrians. So when people point out backpacking tents, we are really meaning light-weight, compact. easy to carry tents which are best for 1-2 people and can include all of the previously mentioned activities, plus more.

Among the first areas to consider is weight. You'll be personally carrying this thing just about everywhere with you, inside your pack or in your hands, or saddle bags and so on... so you prefer to find light and portable tents. Almost all great treking tents weigh close to 3-5 Pounds. Compare that with traditional tents weighing 7-10 Pounds or maybe more. Which means you have saved a lot of personal hassle and energy right off the bat.

The next benefit is definitely the measurements. A great backpacking tent is very compact. The one I personally use is about fifteen inches long and seven inches round. And exposes to be 7 ft long and four feet 6 in wide sleeping 2. While they do vary rather a lot in size from one model to the other and from one producer to another, lightweight tents are supposed to be considerably smaller compared to standard family camp tents. So ensure you be aware of size your tent will take up in your bag prior to starting your travel.

Following are characteristics. Such as what, you might ask, are a few desired features? Well one is a camping tent which has a 'fly', or covering. When it rains or is extremely very hot, you will be glad for that additional bit of fabric between your tent and Mother Nature. Moreover, you may want one with the 'Jake Foot' for simple setup by just one individual. Following a full day of walking or exerting yourself the very last thing you want to do is have a problem with your tent. You desire to chill out and get some essential relaxation. That is certainly among the best features to the lightweight backpacking tents today; they make it easier for you to set up and rest.

So in conclusion, the major considerations you need to take into consideration are the weight of the tent, the size and style, and if it has the features you want. When the backpacking tent you find has all the stuff vital to you then you have yourself a winner and you are therefore able to make your purchase. http://tents-review.com/

A Perfect Barbecue ?EUR" from choosing a place to barbecue recipes

Summer is the best time to organize barbecues. Meeting family and friends in the fresh air and enjoy a delicious meal does not have to be either difficult to organize nor expensive. With some good ideas and simple solutions you can enjoy it to the maximum. After all, it is one of the most popular ways of spending free time outdoors. Grill is easy to use and you can cook literally everything on it - meat, vegetables, fish, cheese, and even fruit. Barbecues are best to be organized in big gardens. Preparing such a party on the balcony is not recommended because the smoke and strong odors can disturb neighbors.

Take care of the equipment

It is good to prepare already at the start of the season and begin with the purchase of the necessary equipment. The prices of portable barbecues depend mainly on their type (you can choose charcoal, electric or gas barbecues), size and brand. The cheapest and simplest are the charcoal grills, but you have to realize the fact that this kind of grill gets dirty quickly and it is probable it will be used only for one season. More expensive, but robustness barbecues will probably serve you longer. Electric and gas grills can be already very expensive, but will surely stay in good shape much longer than the above types. Their biggest advantage is that they can fire in all weather conditions. These grills are always on wheels and have a lid, and additionally are often made of stainless steel or fitted with replaceable surface. No matter which model you choose, you will also need the necessary cutlery set: barbecue knife, meat fork and spatula to turn grilled dishes. The stores offer the special barbecue sets.

Choose charcoal and firewood

Normally, carbon grill burns on charcoal or briquettes. However, the food will taste better if we choose charcoal. Choose thicker lumps of coal, because it easier to burn. Briquette is a block compressed coal dust, there is also coconut briquette available on the market - it burns longer than charcoal, which allows longer grilling. You have to remember that some of these substances can be harmful. It is not good to inflame the grill with a lighter. Using Hardwood or special long matches is a better idea. If it seems difficult, it is possible to use some odorless paraffin oil. However, remember to use them only at the beginning of grilling, when food is not yet on the grid.

Find a good place

Choose a part of a plot or garden that is sheltered from the wind. Don't organize the party, if it blows too hard, because it is difficult to control the flame in such conditions. Place the grill on a hard and even surface so that it remains stable. Remember that the fire should not be too strong, because it will burn the food. It is best when the charcoal is glowing evenly on the entire surface.

Think of what you serve to your guests

The most popular grilled food is the sausage and pork, but there are many interesting barbecue recipes and it is worth to try poultry, vegetables and grilled fish. It is good to marinate the meat before grilling - it will be juicier and much tastier. You can pour some oil on the grate while grilling, so that the food will not stick to it. You should only bake sausages directly on the grate. Chicken, steak, pork, tenderloin, and even fish should be baked on trays or aluminum foil. Check with fork whether the meat is ready before you serve it. Remember that vegetables don't need as much time on the grill as meat. Best vegetables for grilling are zucchini, eggplant, peppers, tomatoes and onions. Grilled mushrooms also taste very good.

I am a passionate writer and good food enthusiast. Crazy about cooking I write about inspirations, interesting food products and unique meal ideas. My specialty is grilling and various barbecue recipes.
