The Auto Deer Feeder

The auto deer feeder takes the regular deer feeding kits and makes them even more convenient. It is designed with the hunter in mind, and can provide regularly timed feeding distributions, making the deer more likely to be at a feeder at a certain time. This not only saves you the time and effort, it also encourages the deer to eat on a pattern. Once you recognize that pattern, as a hunter, you are able to track the deer that much more successfully, according to your set feeding schedule. This auto deer feeder can also make the typical back door deer feeding kit that much more efficient and accessible.
As of today, there are two kinds of automatic deer feeders on the market. One is an analog panel that has a switch to release the food. It runs on a timer that you can set and feeds the deer according to that schedule. The other kind is a digital, programmable one that allows you to set various times for feeding.
Both of these auto feeders are easy to set up. First you have to find a location that gets a good amount of deer traffic. Then you attach the motor on the feeder to the batter and insert the batter into the casing for it underneath the motor. Once you have this powered up you fill the small drum on the automatic deer feeder with whatever feed is recommended by the manufacturers. It's best to use what is suggested by the manufacturer as some of the bulkier mixtures of deer feed won't be able to be released properly by the feeder. Make sure to secure the lid onto the drum tightly after you fill it. Since the feeder will stand dormant for so long, it's important that no moisture gets inside and spoils the deer feed.
After this, you are ready to program the auto feeder. If you have an analog design automatic deer feeder it's as simple as entering the right code for whatever time you desire. Usually these codes will be made clear in the manual that came with your feeder, and you hit the suggested switches to set your timer. There are normally times suggested, but it's really up to you as the user to decide what you should set your timer for. The digital auto feeder is even easier to set, as it works much like an alarm clock. You have arrow keys to move the display up and down to select the time of day, and then you simply click to set the timer. You repeat this process to set as many feeding times as you want. Often these feeders have a few parameters you are able to set like this, customizing your feeding time even further.
With the convenience that comes from owning an auto deer feeder, it's no wonder they have become so popular amongst hunters. Both models are easy to install and set up while also making your hunting experience that much more convenient. For a hunter, there really is no reason not to own an automatic deer feeder.
